Complex Care FAQs

Practical answers regarding clinical governance, safety standards, and high-intensity funding in your NDIS plan.

Complex care encompasses High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) where medical procedures carry clinical risks if not administered properly. This includes enteral feeding, ventilator oversight, tracheostomy care, catheter management, and subcutaneous medication administration.

All high-intensity clinical supports are directly administered or clinically supervised by AHPRA-registered nurses. When delegated to support workers, workers undergo competency-based training assessed by a qualified health practitioner against specific NDIS skills descriptors.

Clinical nursing is funded under Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life) for routine daily health tasks, or through Capacity Building (Improved Daily Living) for clinical assessments, continence reviews, and care plan development.

Our clinical leads establish direct communication with your treating doctors, surgeons, speech pathologists, and hospital discharge planners, ensuring treatment charts, emergency escalation protocols, and medication orders remain fully aligned.

We prioritize rapid clinical intakes for hospital-to-home transitions. Our registered nurses can review hospital discharge summaries, inspect required medical consumables, and establish a safe home roster often within 48 to 72 hours of referral.
