Find answers to common questions about funding, stay lengths, and how our respite care supports participants and carers.
Respite is primarily funded through your NDIS Core Supports budget under Short-Term Accommodation and Assistance (STA). This covers accommodation, personal care, food, and agreed activities for stays up to 14 days at a time.
We offer both in-home respite where our staff support the participant inside their own home—and out-of-home Short-Term Accommodation in safe, comfortable, and accessible residential settings.
Yes. Because Hello Nurses Australia employs qualified registered nurses, we can support participants requiring high-intensity clinical care, including enteral feeding, complex bowel care, catheter management, and subcutaneous medication administration during their stay.
Stays can range from a few hours during the day to several weeks. NDIS funding typically allows up to 28 days of Short-Term Accommodation per year, which can be used in blocks of up to 14 days.
Before care begins, our intake team conducts a detailed assessment covering dietary needs, mobility support, medication charts, communication preferences, and personal routines to ensure complete comfort, consistency, and safety throughout the stay.
